Below are common questions and corresponding answers related to the youth group.
Q: WHY BGUSY?
A: This is probably the most important and easiest question to answer.
1. Meet and reconnect with Jewish teens from Pittsburgh, CRUSY (Central Region USY), and even internationally.
2. Be part of an accepting, fun, silly community made up of teenagers, who know how to "get their Jew on," be serious at times, and make every event the BEST event.
3. Get the most out of our teenage years, while modeling events done by our ancestors for thousands of years!

Q: What are the requirements to be in BGUSY?
A: In order to be a member of Ben Gurion USY, one must be a jewish teen in 9th-12th grade and a paid member of the chapter.
Q: How much does it cost to be a member of BGUSY?
A: Costs are very minimal. Financial aid is also available.
Q: What are conventions?
A: Conventions are weekend trips that occur four times a year at various synagogues with similar CRUSY chapters. At CRUSY conventions, teens will interact with friends, participate in services, complete volunteer work, attend a dance, and much more! (Conventions are commonly considered as the best part of CRUSY). Along with the four regular conventions, there is also a SA/TO (Social Action/ Tikkun Olam) Dance and the International Convention. SA/TO Dance is a mini convention with all money raised going to a local charity. Internation Convention, or IC, is a convention that includes all USY chapters from around the US and Canada, not just CRUSY. IC allows the teens to meet and befriend Jews from all over the world! USYers who attend IC also stay in a hotel, rather than host homes, as one would for a regular CRUSY convention.
